This is an experimental animation with a hand-drawn aesthetic and an emphasis on a variety of different types of mark-making. The 'gaze' and the 'glimpse' manifest themselves in it through the use of panned and flashed imagery. Perceptual ambiguity and a sense of transience are also evident. The title refers to encroachment processes - whether it's the rapid human encroachment on the natural world or subsequent reciprocal encroachment of organisms - like Covid - on the human world.
